Are you ready for jacket season? Yeah, me too. Do you find it a little overwhelming to pick a coat? Or maybe you can’t find one for the right occasion. There are so many styles out there. There are cropped jackets, cozy jackets, sporty ones, and dressier ones. I found a bunch that I really like and thought I would break them down for you into different categories.

What I look for in a Jacket
- Personally, I prefer light jackets almost always. I could wear a fall-weight jacket throughout the winter too, so it’s really important for me to pick the perfect one during this time of year because I know it will carry me through until spring.
- I want my jackets to be large enough that I can fit a sweater underneath just in case I need to add that extra layer.
- It’s important to me to have two jackets. At least. One that’s an every day jacket and one that’s a little nicer so I can wear it out to dinner or something.
- If I am being really honest though, I do like a third jacket option. One that is super casual. It’s just fun. Something that makes me feel happy and cheery in the winter months. I realize all jackets should make us feel good, but for example, I have a light pink jacket that is absolutely nothing like anything else I own, but it gave me that gut feeling, so I had to get it.
Types of Jackets
I broke down my finds into a few categories: Cropped/Short Jackets, Sporty Jackets, Shackets, Cozy Jackets, Long Jackets, and Fancy Jackets.
Cropped/Short
If you are a short person, like me, you will likely enjoy these options. Or, maybe you just don’t need something that goes past your bottom. I have several options listed.
Sporty
These jackets are perfect for when it’s snowing or raining. Some of them are even water resistant. I also feel like these are great for running errands.
Shacket
Have you heard of a shacket yet? It’s the mix between a shirt and jacket. They are typically button ups and a little oversized. I really love these for fall.
Long
These are all different styles, but the length is what’s important. I added some of different lengths.
Cozy
By cozy, I talking teddy bear jackets. They just look like a warm hug when you see one.
Fancy
When I think of “fancy” jackets, I typically mean the jacket I will wear to Christmas Mass with my grandma (hahaha). Or maybe a coat I will wear for drinks with some friends.
