An easy way to mix up your wardrobe is to include skirts. I have skirts of all prints and all styles. Below are six different skirts, dressed up and down. Because most of my skirts have either been in my closet for a while, or because they were thrifted I wanted to share a few skirts you can purchase to introduce into your wardrobe from four black-owned fashion brands.
You will see I am not afraid of a printed skirt. I think they add so much pizzazz to my outfits. It means I can pair them with a simple top, or a graphic tee, which I have a ton of.
I know a lot of fellow fats are told not to wear pencil skirts because it shows off our visible belly outline, but once you stop worrying about what society tells you to wear, and you start dressing for yourself, it becomes less of a “problem.”
I also love a maxi and a midi skirt (which I’m short so most of my skirts end up being these lengths). Any time I am thrifting and I see a skirt, I almost always grab it, which is how I ended up with the yellow and orange floral skirt and the navy skirt. These are two of my favorite skirts in my wardrobe because I can wear them so many ways and with so many different tops.
Below, I’m going to share a four skirts I think would be easy to add into any wardrobe.
